Seorang penggemar bernama Yana mengirimkan halaman tumblr kepada Sum 41. Dalam tulisannya, Yana bercerita tentang sahabatnya Desy, penggemar berat Sum 41 dan pencipta fanbase Twitter @Sum41_Indonesia.
Desy baru saja menghembuskan nafas terakhirnya beberapa hari lalu karena tabrak lari. Padahal Desy sangat excited untuk bisa bertemu idolanya itu. Berikut bunyi surat dari Yana untuk Sum 41.
My friend Desy (@desyendira) was a huge fan of Sum 41. She created the Indonesian Sum 41 Fanbase Twitter (@Sum41_Indonesia) and had been the only admin of that account. The band will come to Jakarta on 10 April 2012 but three days ago, a hit and run by a bus
stopped her from meeting her favorite band. She passed away at that moment, just about a week before the concert. I wrote this to let the guys know that there’s a person who loves them but not being able to say it because fate didn’t let her make it. Sum 41 was the band that had formed her, the first band on her list, the band whom this girl had been through the days with their music. I remember she said she planned to make it to the stage at their show to sing together with the band and I wished that would come true. Now, I could only write this and hope Sum 41 notice ‘cause she’d be happy to have her inspiring people knowing or maybe even remember the love she always have for them.
Ternyata surat elektronik tersebut tak diabaikan Deryck Whibley cs. Mereka benar-benar membacanya dan menuliskan pesan via Twitter untuk penggemar lain di Jakarta. Mereka berjanji untuk memberi konser terbaik di Tanah Air untuk Desy.
"Very saddened 2 hear this news. We want 2 thank her 4 being a big fan and our show in Jakarta is now dedicated 2 Desy," tulis Sum41 via Twitter.
Ini kali keduanya Sum 41 menggelar konser di Jakarta. Sebelumnya pelantun hits 'In too Deep' itu sudah pernah menggoncang Tennis Indoor Jakarta pada Mei 2008 silam.
